A quick look at Proenza Schouler’s Fall/Winter 2010/11 show, the designer duo Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough’s effort for pre-fall 2010 made sense as a prelude to the stunning show, which turned the inferno of sexuality to a sizzling extreme.

Super Surprise + Super Splurge @ Seibu
Never in my crazy dreams have I ever imagined that Seibu would one day become one of my favourite department stores to splurge. Well… Perhaps its the modest logo and/or the rather masculine company name. I am just not particularly addicted to it as much as some of the others extravagant shops in the market. Nevertheless, I guess what matters the most is what they stock, its quality and most importantly, the price.
Since sales have became a non-existent subject matter at most of my favourite stores at this time of the year, I had been sober… until strolling randomly on the streets, I found out that Seibu was still celebrating a merry time with final sales. As a result of this, I gained immediate strength and became a super vicious being knocking over some a couple of a few dating couples to grab all that pleases my eyes.

Elsa Sylvan – Oh, So Super Sweet!
When it comes to selecting my favourite models, I am very critical upon who I choose; and perhaps because of that, usually by the time I am able to distinctly utter the name of my favourite model for definite and without pauses, she is not on the fashion radar anymore. Today, I am glad to announce Elsa Sylvan as my favourite model of all time. Although the sweet Swede might be a quiet speaker, her presence on the runway is nothing silent. With her strong persona and love for mother nature, she is for sure a gem in the fashion world. If you are still not sure about this 22 year old, be sure to check out her models talks by Fashion TV. You’ll love her!

Dries van Noten Mens Spring/Summer Ready-to-wear 2010 Paris
Is Dries Van Noten men and Dries Van Noten women one of the most matching couples in fashion history ever? Just like the Belgian designer’s womens collection, which we have just seen yesterday, South East Asia is the source of inspiration for menswear as well – creating an easy and non-chalant collection that is smart yet casual and refined yet never over the top.

Spring/Summer 2010 Runway’s Fantastic Five
Well… After four fantastic fashion weeks in New York, London, Milan and Paris, it’s time to round everything up. One of the things to work on is, of course, to make a list of favorite models, especially the ones who made our heart pulse faster and faster as they walked on the runway. For me, there were five girls, who I just can’t seem to get enough of this spring/summer 2010. Here they are in alphabetical order.
The first two girls from the list both hail from Scandinavia and their names both start with a fantastic letter: Freja Beha Erichsen from Denmark and Frida Gustavsson from Sweden. I just love Freja’s versatility and her unique personality. She can wear any masculine or feminine outfits and she will look striking in both! I also love the fact that she doesn’t just wear the clothes. She works the clothes in her own style, when she wears it. It is no wonder that she scored 43 shows this spring/summer. Freja’s highlight this season must be at the Chanel show when she kissed with Dutch model Lara Stone in the hay. Cheeky!

-Brilliant Brits – Mary Katrantzou and Marios Schwab – bedazzled Joyce with their all bubbling creativity. Mario Schwab’s red Swarovski jewel encrusted dress (as worn by Swedish model Julia Hafström on Dazed and Confused’s August 2009 cover) is in particular captivating in real life!

- Alexander Wang Anya wrapped boot (link)

The Devil Sells Prada
This incident occurred at around 5 pm, when the sun was beginning to go down and the dark forces are nigh.
After a long day of wandering in the dangerous forest, where luxury stores stand tall and erect in the middle of somewhere, I was sweaty and tired, so I took refuge from the dirty exhausted air of the busy streets and entered the house of Prada’s massive flagship store to chill out a little.
At first, everything was harmless, as I browsed through the fresh elegant store filled with a pleasant fragrance in the air; but then, things got out of control, when a “nice” sales assistant started being sweet with me.
She analysed my look and style, read my mind inside out and presented glitter ‘n’ glam before my very eyes.
That day, I was wearing an oversized black T-Shirt with dark blue jeans. Naturally, the cunning foxy lady tempted me with this season’s most sought-after T-Shirts: two of them were delicately embelished with fall/winter’s runway looks (I don’t really remember precisely, but I think one had a model wearing those sexy thigh high boots and a stunning red outfit and another one with a model wearing a jewel-encrusted outfit), an oversized T-Shirt with heavy metal rock ‘n’ roll studs as well as a whole tray of basic Tees.
It was with overflowing patience that Ms. Evil slowly and gently talked me through their great collection of T-Shirts; after which, I was invited cordially into their beautifully lit change room. Surrounded by lush green walls in the roomy change room, the forces of calamity and evil were nigh [1]. Nonetheless, I stayed strong and tried on the outfits in lightning speed in order to deflect all temptations.
However, despite my strong will and effort against the negative dark force, it was exactly the moment when I tried on the grey T-Shirt with the heavy metal studs that victory for the devil was proclaimed.
As I glanced at my own mirrored image on the refined mirrored surfaces, I saw horns growing on my head and knew exactly that the devil has tainted my heart black with ever more unrequited love for you-know-who. At that precise moment, I transformed fully into a demon worshipper, a demon lover and I didn’t care about anything else in the world, because I was dressed in Prada at Prada!
After several minutes, I came back to myself, checked the price tag, but failed to find a number with a dollar sign on the tag.
As I made my way bedazzled out of the change room, I made small chat with Ms. Sweetly-Evil once again, dropping the price question as naturally as I could. When she uttered a four digit number ($ 2950 HKD), my eyes widened as the fire inside burnt more intensely and I woke up: “How on bloody hell could that be?”
Then, I talked some non-sense about logic and intelligence and sneaked out made my way out as silently and as unnoticeably as I could.
Oh, Miuccia, you sure do know how to train those little ones.
Endnote:
[1] “In the Middle Ages, green was considered the color of calamity and evil, and was associated with the Devil itself. It symbolized superstition to the point where one avoided dressing in green.” [*]
[2] Apologies, but I cannot find a pic of thsoe T-Shirts at all. I guess it’s just not a thing that people usually seek to buy at Prada. Shoes, handbags and accessories are still the number one seller.
