Erdem’s Colour Vision

Erdem’s Tomoko sunnies with Kyoto print £290.00

Anastasija Kondratjeva in Erdem's Tomoko sunnies

A collaboration between two amongst London’s sea of talents – the iconic eyewear label Cutler & Gross and the celebrated fashion label Erdem – resulted in something magnificent. With its colourful Kyoto watercolour-printed frame in classic sixties style, it looks like this edgy pair of Tomoko sunnies (£290.00) from the Spring/Summer 2010 collection is the perfect accessory to accompany me during the flamboyant season whether in the city of by the beach. Mmm… Fantastic!

Alexander McQueen Spring/Summer Ready-to-wear 2010 Lookbook

Eugenia Mandzhieva and Yulia Leontieva in Alexander McQueen Spring/Summer Ready-to-wear 2010 Lookbook

Each time I see a collection by Alexander McQueen, it always re-ignites that burning passion of mine for fashion. Right from the inside, I feel all the reasons of why I am ever interested in fashion. The Spring/Summer 2010 collection fits perfectly in the picture. Taking the theme of “Natural dis-tinction un-natural selection” to the extreme, Mr. McQueen visits a seemingly extraterrestrial territory and presents a supernatural collection that is strong and striking.

Be Amazed by Anthropologie

Anthropologie April Catalog – Contours – Featuring Latvian model Ginta Lapina.

Latvian model Ginta Lapina featured in Anthropologie's April 2010 Catalog

Featured in Anthropologie’s latest catalogue is none other than our favourite little globe trotter – Ginta Lapina. From Latvia with love, Ginta travels half way across the globe to play the role of a pretty sophisticated princess of the Desert in this extraordinary editorial entitled “Contours”. Juxtaposed to some of the world’s most breathtaking scenery, Ginta shows off her wardrobe effortlessly in an equally astounding manner. We especially like the print this season. Like flower in the sand, it shines so gracefully juxtaposed to the silky smooth sandy taupe background – bringing the deadly desert once again to life!

Ginta Lapina in Black and White

Latvian model Ginta Lapina wears dresses from BCBG Max Azria.

Latvian model Ginta Lapina wears dresses from BCBG Max Azria.

When I first spotted button-cute Platinum blonde model Ginta Lapina – curse me – I thought she is just a simple dolly face with nothing special. Oh, that’s surely my bad! After intensely studying watching her Models Talk Video for Spring/Summer 2010 (Gawd! I’m such a sucker for Models Talk Videos by FTV!), I got to “know” her better and now I have fallen deeply in love with the ethereal beauty from the Baltic States. I just love her depth, her maturity and most of all, her passion for Art. What an extraordinary girl with an extraordinary face? We truly adore her inside and out. Be sure to check the lovely Latvian Lady’s Models Talk Video out!

Ginta wears pure white dress (USD $298.00) with jewelled neckline in black and sexy deep V-neck jersey halter gown (USD $398.00) in this post. All from BCBG Max Azria. Available at Bloomingdales.

Alisa Matviychuk, Mina Cvetkovic and Ksenia Kahnovich in Lacoste

Alisa Matviychuk, Mina Cvetković and Ksenia Kahnovich in Lacoste

There are times, when I think is it really necessary for Lacoste to do a show each season? I mean what else can you do with sportswear? It’s always the same ol’ stuff! However, each season, Creative Director Christophe Lemaire proposes a strong well-argumentted rebut that leaves me gasping for more!

Kasia Struss, Magdalena Frackowiak and Freja Beha Erichsen in Balenciaga

Since I like my clothes sharp and strong, I was expecting and kind of really wanted to see the remarkable return of technorobo for Balenciaga this season. Well… This only made it all the more unpredictable and beyond amazing to see designer Nicolas Ghesquière turning the wheels once again and redefining the refined Parisian label for Spring/Summer 2010. Well… Afterall, we are entering another new decade [1]. This pleasant collection surely accompanies us through the times and pushes us forward to be ready for the imminent future, that is bright and full of energy and enlightened optimism.

Luca Luca Spring/Summer Ready-to-wear 2010 New York

Ieva Aniulytė, Nataliya Gotsii and Kelli Lumi in Luca Luca

Ieva Aniulytė, Nataliya Gotsii and Kelli Lumi in Luca Luca

After seeing some of the most extraordinary work in London, Milan and Paris, New York Fashion Week just seems dull. Luca Luca used to be one of those interesting houses for me – fresh and innovative. That was back in 2003 though, when Milan-born designer Luca Orlandi was still in the house. Well… Nowadays, presence-wise, the American label just feels weak and I can see why from this collection.
