Canadian models Shalom Harlow and Owen Steuart are the powerful faces for Joop!’s Fall/Winter 2008/09 ad campaign. This is a little strange for me, because with Shalom as the face, it just feels like a Tiffany & Co. ad. I am not saying that Tiffany & Co. owns Shalom, but only because she is such a notorious model for Tiffany & Co., who possesses a seemingly boundless budget and places their ads more internationally than Joop!.

I’m ready to Joop!
Before I came to Germany, I have never ever taken notice of Joop! – the German label, which focuses on modern timelesss classics; but now that I have three whole catalogs/lookbooks in my hand, I am totally in love with the label. I cannot see anyone else on the market who can do monogram or conspicuously put a logo on something without irritating me and Joop! can, because Joop! does it so subduedly. I am hoping to get some jewellery from Joop! of course!

Joop! Fall/Winter 2009/10 Collection Berlin
I know Lily’s fans are just going to hate me, but I have to say it: I hate it! I hate it! I just hate it! This season’s faces (Lily Donaldson and Sean O’pry) with all their respective mega status and perfect looks just turn me off. There is nothing I hate more than looking at over-the-top beautiful people. Thank god, they only have 4 images in the lookbook – all of the rest are glorious runway images. Juhu!

Danish for Joop Jewellery
It was strange for me to see a Danish chick and a Danish boy together doing a jewellery campaign for a German brand. What I mean is that normally German brands are very loyal, i.e. Toni Garrn for Boss and Luca Gadjus for Escada; but I guess since the Danish language is part of the Germanic family, Freja and Eddie both count as “German” in this case.
The campaign is shot by Craig McDean and I love the simplicity and the sleekness of it all.
Although there are only three images of these yummy Danish models in the accessories lookbook (all the others are close up of products), I am sold! Freja and Eddie’s mesmerising gazes just pierce right thru me and I want them and the glistening jewellery!
