There’s no rose without Ann Demeulemeester’s thorns.

Ann Demeulemeester’s epine black leather necklace and leather thorn bracelet

Ann Demeulemeester’s Pretty Prickly Predicament

Beautiful yet disturbing – Ann Demeulemeester’s epine black leather necklace (SEK 440,00) and leather thorn bracelet (SEK 1.676,00) are doomed to be worn and not wasted. Engraved with the Belgian designer’s signature style with a prickly motif, these pieces are dark yet mysteriously alluring. The bracelet, which is made of silver with a leather outer shell, is an easy piece to adapt to this season’s trendy looks for an indifferent touch in the small scale; while the necklace looks like a deadly thorn in our flesh. Well… The more fatal it looks in our face, the more we love it!

Available at Mrs H.

In The Tribe… In Lanvin’s Terrific Tribe!

Lanvin Spring/Summer Ready-to-wear 2010 Paris

Lanvin's extravagant Stanislas Earring

Add a sense of fun and style to your final look with Lanvin’s adorable Stanislas earrings. Shaped by delicate twigs of shiny brass to form the silhouette of a playful little poster child for endearing cuteness, then, adorned with exquisite crystals and red coral beading; this pair of earrings glows with subtlety, class and extravagant refinement. Yet, its tribal influence creates a remarkably raw touch that makes the entire thing seem primitive in the way that it connects no-time-to-waste city life into the full embrace of Mother Nature. At ~€543.00, this lovely doll-shaped pair, for me, is definitely a timeless piece worth purchasing.

On The Cuff

Sterling Silver Double Twig Cuff From Elizabeth and James

Sterling Silver Double Twig Cuff From Elizabeth and James

Let’s be honest! When I first heard that the stylish Olsen Twins are dabbing their hands into fashion design, I went “uh-oh!” – not quite sure how I would have to control my “D’oh!” of disappointment, when I see their work. Well… Perhaps I don’t need to worry about that anymore, because just like the twins themselves, their designs are actually oh-so-lovely! On my fashion radar, we spotted the Double Twig Cuff Bracelet ($USD 250) from Mary Kate and Ashley’s fashion line Elizabeth and James. The oh-so-gorgeous cuff is gently sculpted and formed by an intricate lacy web of sterling silver twigs, which gives it a unique character and charm. Made by the incredible jewelry designer and sculptor Robert Lee Morris, this exquisite piece is certainly the most-wanted bracelet of the season.

Available at Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue.

Alexander McQueen's skull-motif is simply striking!

Alexander McQueen's skull-motif is simply striking!

Skull! Skull! Oh, skull! It’s scary, but oh… we just love to play with fire! When it comes to this bloodcurdling subject matter, we certainly cannot go past the mighty king and queen of this Gothic greatness – the British designer Alexander McQueen. Available on his wonderful website and in stores now is an exquisite jewellery selection, which exhibits a touch of our love for the six letter word – d.a.n.g.e.r. Presented in the picture above from top left (clockwise) are red double wrap skull charm bracelet, silver skull ring, skull crystal drop earring, red punk heart cuff, icon charm bracelet, gold skull ring and fork and spoon drop earrings. My pick from the pack is definitely the skull ring! I just love the Swarovski crystal stuffing in the eye. So rich, so exquisite! Living on the dark side? Don’t say it. Live it, wear it!

The Marvellous Miss Marc

Marc by Marc Jacobs Jewellery

Marc by Marc Jacobs Jewellery

I am not sure whether the price of Marc by Marc Jacobs’ accessories line is directly proportional to its quality and design; but hey, I don’t care, because I’m falling for it madly! Pumped with sugar-coated sweetness with a one of its kind quirky twist, the marvellous Miss Marc is for sure matchless and thus, one of the most sought after accessories this season. You may find Miss Marc’s button-cute face printed on tops, swimsuits, bags and much more all over the Marc by Marc Jacobs line, however, the thing I want the most is its earrings, because best things come in small packages, no?

Magic by Malene Birger!

Jewellery by Malene Birger

Jewellery by Malene Birger

I haven’t done any posts on jewellery before [1], but well… it’s never too late to start. The first post on jewellery is going to stand on good ground. In fact, it’s going to be great! We are going to bring you a touch of magic from Scandinavia – the Danish label By Malene Birger. Little do people know that Ms. Birger’s not only makes a charming clothing collection each season, but also fine jewellery to go complementarily with her designs! Each delicate piece of jewellery adds a voice and a certain individual personality to the outfits, which I find enchanting.

For Fall/Winter 2009/10, chunky jewellery in the size of a mammoth is in and Ms. Birger offers an exquisite range made with the finest materials for deluxe tribal chic and extravagant blingbling glam. Presented in the picture above from top left to right then bottom are:

  • Lilly Bell pearl and crystal necklace.
  • Intan multi-strand necklace.
  • Mondi embellished felt necklace.
  • Rowena studded bangles.

A magic touch for the magic moment! Jewellery from by Malene Birger is available from net-a-porter and Quartier Deluxe.

Endnote:
[1] The post entitled “Danish for Joop Jewellery” is focused on the models, not the jewellery themselves.
