Chloé Fall/Winter Ready-to-wear 2010/11 Paris

Chloé Spring Summer Ready to wear 2010 Collection Paris

Freja Beha Erichsen, Raquel Zimmermann and Magdalena Frackowiak in Chloé Spring/Summer 2010 Collection

Perhaps it’s the golden rays she sends out each season at Chloé, I’m actually warming up to Hannah MacGibbon – Creative Director of the French Luxury Fashion House. Well… It’s not the most avant-garde show I have ever seen, but nonetheless, it’s delightful and it’s desirable! With this winning combination, I am confident that Chloé’s financial matters will be enjoying quite a pleasant ride in the forthcoming fall.

Mean Girl

Russian model Sasha Pivovarova for H&M Fall 2009

Russian model Sasha Pivovarova for H&M Fall 2009

This happened yesterday, after a long day of ogling some really really beyond great pieces from a lot of different labels, like Acne, Neil Barrett, Lanvin, Raf Simons, Rick Owens, Givenchy and etc. We finally made our way to H&M to buy the things we could truly afford and steal obtain three copies of H&M magazine on the way (Mmm… Marina Linchuk in underwear!).

The store at the time was as usual crowded with a swamp of people and amongst which, we spotted a woman, with a larger-than-her Miu Miu paper bag under her arm, struggling to squeeze through the rather tightly spaced racks in the sea of people to check out a particular extraordinaire of her taste. The sight of it was so ridiculously hilarious that it poked out my mean bone, as I spoke to my friend in English thinking that the “glamorous” owner of the fore-mentioned label would not understand a word coming from a certain blabber mouth, which spoke inconsiderately of her daring cynical thoughts: some stuff hailing from a certain peachy-pink label is just made of 100% cheese. Just as the word “overrated” was emphasised, the woman suddenly turned to look at us, took flight in a rather slapdash fashion and was gone with her overpowering big bag of goodies in a matter of microseconds. Well… Walls have ears and without the walls, oops…

I cannot call myself a fan of Calvin Klein at all – somehow the American label just seems to be too hyped, too popular and just not me. However, when I saw the Spring/Summer 2010 collection on Video Fashion, I just fell very deeply for it. I love the quiet but distinct and crisp voice the collection has. It is a real genuine charmer!

Oh, Miu Miu! Is it not the most magnificent, the most marvellous and the most magical show of all this Spring/Summer 2010? With a charming collection shown on a fantastic set with fabulous music, Miuccia Prada certainly did not disappoint me! Not one tiny single bit at all!

It was so nice to see Chloé’s Spring/Summer 2010 show. First of all, Freja, the first face at the show (Yay!), looked so super womanly with her long hair. Secondly, there is only 29 looks! Really, anywhere between 25-35 is the ideal number of looks to present in a show for me. 40 looks and above is dangerous, because it could really be mindbogging and loses the effect. Win a go, Hannah!

Céline by Phoebe Philo Spring/Summer Ready-to-wear 2010 Paris

Yes, I do miss Ivana, but… well… one must move on. Seeing the first look from the new collection at the French house of Céline is surely a pleasant surprise. What? It’s leather for spring/summer! So tough, yet so absolutely chic! These contrasting elements certainly create the chemical sparks for a blasting introduction to the second super charming collection by British designer Phoebe Philo for Céline.

Mary Katrantzou, the Greek-born designer, who just presented her second collection under her very own name, certainly has a reason to hold an after-party and most of all, to celebrate.

Emilio Pucci: Dundas’ exotic erotic Valley

Notably neon: Natasha Poly shines in Pucci.

Notably neon: Natasha Poly shines in Pucci.

I am so sick of other designers abiding strictly and almost passionately by the current trends instead of experimenting with the new. After all, not selling well is one of the nightmares in the industry, especially under this environment, but selling your creative soul to the devil is simply not the solution. Thank god for Peter Dundas!

Cacharel Spring/Summer Ready-to-wear 2009 Paris

The season was spring/summer 2003. That was the season when I first discovered the magical fantastic world of Fashion and you know what? Cacharel was one of the first houses that I first loved. At least 5 whole years have passed and lots have occurred to my life as well as within the France-based fashion house with the change of appointment in creative director twice. Although Cacharel has been quite quiet recently, evident of this is that the collections have unfortunately not been featured on style.com since Spring/Summer 2003 (link), the house does not cease to produce things that I simply adore.
