Super Sonia Strikes H&M

Lara Stone and Anne Vyalitsyna show off Sonia Rykiel lingerie collection pour H&M

Lara Stone and Anne Vyalitsyna show off Sonia Rykiel lingerie collection pour H&M

After seeing Sonia Rykiel’s line for H&M in person, I am feeling a little bit confused right now. Perhaps it is because as I stepped out the door at home, extremely excited to see the fresh new arrivals, my loving mum reminded me once again that a pair of panties of that quality could be made at $USD 1.00. Arrrrgh… Thanks, Mum!

Well… If I neglect mum’s advice, I think the prices of Sonia Rykiel’s line for H&M are reasonable, because afterall it is evidently cheaper than the real line. Nonetheless, it’s still not to my wallet’s taste, especially the headband and the oversized brooch with the playful Rykiel big bow at respectfully $USD 34.95 and $USD 24.95. As expected, the store was flooded with people today. They all snapped a monstrous chunk of sexy bras and panties intimately in their arm. The favourite amongst the crowd was understandably the design with the colourful Rykiel signature stripes. With the armful of goodies, the girls found themselves stuck in a hideous queue outside the changeroom. Only a few dared to spend and went home with a tiny little Sonia Rykiel pour H&M bag. Well… It seems like no one was willing to go completely nuts for it.

Mean Girl

Russian model Sasha Pivovarova for H&M Fall 2009

Russian model Sasha Pivovarova for H&M Fall 2009

This happened yesterday, after a long day of ogling some really really beyond great pieces from a lot of different labels, like Acne, Neil Barrett, Lanvin, Raf Simons, Rick Owens, Givenchy and etc. We finally made our way to H&M to buy the things we could truly afford and steal obtain three copies of H&M magazine on the way (Mmm… Marina Linchuk in underwear!).

The store at the time was as usual crowded with a swamp of people and amongst which, we spotted a woman, with a larger-than-her Miu Miu paper bag under her arm, struggling to squeeze through the rather tightly spaced racks in the sea of people to check out a particular extraordinaire of her taste. The sight of it was so ridiculously hilarious that it poked out my mean bone, as I spoke to my friend in English thinking that the “glamorous” owner of the fore-mentioned label would not understand a word coming from a certain blabber mouth, which spoke inconsiderately of her daring cynical thoughts: some stuff hailing from a certain peachy-pink label is just made of 100% cheese. Just as the word “overrated” was emphasised, the woman suddenly turned to look at us, took flight in a rather slapdash fashion and was gone with her overpowering big bag of goodies in a matter of microseconds. Well… Walls have ears and without the walls, oops…

Get Sexy in Sonia Rykiel!

Sonia Rykiel pour H&M Christmas 2009

Sonia Rykiel pour H&M Christmas 2009

Mark the Date! Sonia Rykiel for H&M’s lingerie collection is coming to stores worldwide on 5th December 2009. Ready or not, you know, it’s going to strike in style! So far from the pictures released, the collection seems to be playful and chic in the French label’s notorious ways! Although to me the girls in the campaign – Lara Stone, Anne Vyalitsyna and Caroline Trentini – looked out of place and not in sync with each other, I just love the way each girl looks so comfortable and at ease in it. That’s the way underwear should be, no? Body conscious, smart and sexy; Sonia Rykiel has it!

Danish model Mathias Lauridsen – wanted and needed. Alive and sexy, please!

From the response of ”*lol*”, which I received upon the blog post entitled “Nordiska Kompaniet Summer 2009 Catalog” with subject matter of the Danish model Mathias Lauridsen; I cannot help but sense a kind of sarcasm and perhaps… a bit of jealousy from you! Am I right?

Rock me. I’m a Danish!

Would Mathias wear these?

Rock me, Mathias! You are Danish!

I don’t know about you, but each time, I go to any Gucci store, I just feel so self-conscious, not only because of the cougar-like stares from the super-cunning sales staff; but also, every time I catch a glimpse of Mathias walking the runway oh-so-seductively on their in-store TV screens, I just get all childish and cannot help but giggle ever so silly – creating an embarrassing series of mysterious-yet-hilarious stories for the sales staff to share over smoke breaks.

David & Goliath’s “Rock me. I’m a Danish” T-Shirt is one such fun Tee that arrouses such a silly smile on my face. Yes, Mathias looks nothing like the round donut – who apparently is the Awesome German Composer Mr. Mozart dressed like a Danish playing the electric keyboard oh-so-rock ‘n’ roll. However, you know what? Like a yummy Danish, Mathias just rocks and knocks me out each time he walks, he talks… Mmm…

Well… If I have to choose a Tee to reply his sweet loving gaze upon me, then, David & Goliath has this super adorable ”I’m so fawn of you” Tee.

Can’t believe Tees can actually say it all! Wow! The 21st Century!

Spotted

@ Burberry @ Galeries Lafayette: A delectable range of coats from Burberry at Galeries Lafayette in Berlin Mitte, in particular spotted a real nice black shiny coat made with wool, silk and polyester. So stunning!
@ Zara: sunnies @ 19.95 euros each? Cheap?
@ H&M: two pairs of stockings for 5 euros. Cheap?

Virginal H&M COS Experience

Polish model Anna Maria Jagodzinska for H&M COS

Polish model Anna Maria Jagodzińska for H&M COS

Have never been to COS before and this is ultimately my very first time. Saw some very gorgeous pieces – all very Jil Sander, because everything is so minimal and streamlined. Compared to the original, the prices are of course great, but still higher than H&M.

I liked the shoes but was afraid to even try it, because the sales all looked so stuck up. Nonetheless, I managed to snap a catalog/lookbook/COS paper and I love it! Though I think they should do it less Jil Sander-esque, because it is very unoriginal.

Spotted

@ Fleamarket: an original pair of vintage heels from the 1940s complete with exotic python skin. Priced ridiculously at 40 euros aka approximately two pairs of flats at H&M.
@ Train: girl in peek-a-boo stiletto bootie complete with cut-out heel. Trés cool!
@ U-Bahn: Erin O’Connor-esque tall girl with jet black short hair. Very elegant!
@ Fruit store: A hobo version of Jacquetta Wheeler.
@ Zara: polka dot sleepwear inspired dress (button cute!) and leopard print sweater or possibly shirt (trés cool!).

H&M Moccasins

H&M MoccasinsH&M Moccasins

That is my moccasins from H&M. I am still wondering whether they are worth the money I paid for it, even though it was not that much compared to those Zara flats I want. The problem with these moccasins are:
-Unlike what they look like, they are not ‘that’ comfortable (as trainers are)
-They make my feet go black when I wear it all day long
-It grazes my nail polish off, too!
-I think I am not rocking the look as much as Swedish girls are.

Please ignore the hair problem as seen in the pic. I tried to darken the pic so that the hair becomes invisible, but without success.

Shopaholic in Training

Went out shopping once again today. I always think everything just looks the same everywhere, but today I had some splendid surprises. Partly because sales are going on in a lot of places, so that just puts me in a good mood everyday. The other reason, of course, is because of the weekend. I love what I do, but you just need some rest sometimes, you know?

H&M Fashion Aids T-Shirt

Saw those Fashion Aids T-Shirt at H&M. The price is quite good and certainly reasonable and perhaps seeing this makes me understand more about the pricing of Matthew Williamson’s capsule collection for H&M. I mean they want everyone to afford it, but they also don’t want everyone to afford it. It is a complicated relationship. I mean surely, you want the publicity, but you don’t want it to be soooo ridiculously cheap that it cheapens your entire name.

Anyway, back on topic. I really like those Fashion Aids designs. Some of them are really creative and the cut is pretty good and it comes in great colour range for men and women, too! So I am glad.

I have already seen one platinum blonde babe wearing a Dita von Teese Tee, she looked a little bit cheesy actually, but I am proud of her for supporting the good cause. That puts a smile on my face and I kind of do want to see more people wearing it on the streets.

Mango

Basically, I go in Mango every week, sometimes 2-3 times a week, so I thought I knew everything that is going on in this Spanish chain store, but it turned out I was wrong. It was probably because of these sales signs, they really do something to me mentally. I just feel less guilty when I buy sales stock, so I have more patience to go through the racks and peek through every corner.

This time, I found a pair of heels I am desperately dying for. It is in black suede and looks like the vintage pair of YSL pumps Julia Restoin-Roitfeld possesses, but the only difference is that it does not have a platform. It is a pair of pumps, which are perfect for me, because I do not think I will survive walking in platforms, so it is better to stick with what I do best.

Zara

My feelings for Zara is the same as my feelings for Mango actually. The only difference is that I think of Hana Soukupova, when someone mentions Zara, instead of Penélope Cruz.

I had the same pleasant time at Zara today, because I discovered a pair of flats I love. It is round and has tiny cut-out shapes around the rim. It is very cute. The thought of whether I should snatch it home or not is simply killing me, because I bought a pair of moccasins from H&M two weeks ago and to buy another pair of flats is simply a waste of environmental resources, because afterall, it is world environment day today and also, I told my landlord I am broke as the predominant reason of my desire to move out, so if I buy that pair of shoes, I would be THE hypocrite and I am sure my landlord goes into my room and checks on my stuff. Creepo!

Anyway, I will keep you all informed about those Zara flats. I am 50% certain that I will be wearing Zara flats to death in the future, like my last pair (see here).

Have a lovely weekend!
