Mark Cox in Prada Spring/Summer 2010
To be perfectly honest with you all, this season, I am more in love with Prada’s menswear line than with its womenswear collection. A walk through the brightly-lit store space complete with racks and racks of spring/summer goodies, this feeling just intensifies even more so. If I could, I would have certainly done a grabsweep-and-run, regardless of whether the pieces actually flatter me or not. Well… Yes, sir, yes! I’m crazy! I’m crazy in love!

Caroline Brasch Nielsen, Carla Gebhart and Jaquelyn Jablonski in Céline
One sleepy “morning”, my friend woke me up from my most wanted and most needed beauty sleep to tell me to urgently check out Garance Dore’s video of Céline’s show. At first, I was doubtful. I mean was it really that powerful, that worthy to disrupt the most valued activity of my day? Moreover, does it truly live up to all the hypes and expectations? Well… Well… Well… To my surprise, Ms. Philo’s show for Céline was indeed everything of the above description and even more.

Blanco Denim unravels its stunning Spring/Summer 2010 ad campaign with a sensational cast: the platinum blonde Dutch star Dewi Driegen and the American hunk Brian Shimansky. The two makes a perfect pair showing off the denimwear label’s fresh and invigorating new collection under the lens of photographer-duo Hunter and Gatti. Basic pieces are infused with a zest of modern twist and are given the exuberant glamourous treatment. We love how young and energetic the line is. It makes us wanna dive into Blanco Denim’s cool pool of blue denim pieces right now and feel the calming summer breeze. Ahhh…

Dutch model Rogier Bosschaart rightly presents this eccentric artistic collection from the Italian fashion label Marni. For Spring/Summer 2010, designer Consuelo Castiglioni has given Marni men nice functional pieces in a diverse range of colours – predominantly, a sensible palette infused with a slight hint of citric yellow.

Lara Stone and Anne Vyalitsyna show off Sonia Rykiel lingerie collection pour H&M
After seeing Sonia Rykiel’s line for H&M in person, I am feeling a little bit confused right now. Perhaps it is because as I stepped out the door at home, extremely excited to see the fresh new arrivals, my loving mum reminded me once again that a pair of panties of that quality could be made at $USD 1.00. Arrrrgh… Thanks, Mum!
Well… If I neglect mum’s advice, I think the prices of Sonia Rykiel’s line for H&M are reasonable, because afterall it is evidently cheaper than the real line. Nonetheless, it’s still not to my wallet’s taste, especially the headband and the oversized brooch with the playful Rykiel big bow at respectfully $USD 34.95 and $USD 24.95. As expected, the store was flooded with people today. They all snapped a monstrous chunk of sexy bras and panties intimately in their arm. The favourite amongst the crowd was understandably the design with the colourful Rykiel signature stripes. With the armful of goodies, the girls found themselves stuck in a hideous queue outside the changeroom. Only a few dared to spend and went home with a tiny little Sonia Rykiel pour H&M bag. Well… It seems like no one was willing to go completely nuts for it.

There are times, when I think is it really necessary for Lacoste to do a show each season? I mean what else can you do with sportswear? It’s always the same ol’ stuff! However, each season, Creative Director Christophe Lemaire proposes a strong well-argumentted rebut that leaves me gasping for more!

Sonia Rykiel pour H&M Christmas 2009
Mark the Date! Sonia Rykiel for H&M’s lingerie collection is coming to stores worldwide on 5th December 2009. Ready or not, you know, it’s going to strike in style! So far from the pictures released, the collection seems to be playful and chic in the French label’s notorious ways! Although to me the girls in the campaign – Lara Stone, Anne Vyalitsyna and Caroline Trentini – looked out of place and not in sync with each other, I just love the way each girl looks so comfortable and at ease in it. That’s the way underwear should be, no? Body conscious, smart and sexy; Sonia Rykiel has it!

Frida Gustavsson, Dorothea Barth Jörgensen and Nimuë Smit in Calvin Klein Spring Summer 2010 Collection
I cannot call myself a fan of Calvin Klein at all – somehow the American label just seems to be too hyped, too popular and just not me. However, when I saw the Spring/Summer 2010 collection on Video Fashion, I just fell very deeply for it. I love the quiet but distinct and crisp voice the collection has. It is a real genuine charmer!
