Freja Beha Erichsen, Raquel Zimmermann and Magdalena Frackowiak in Chloé Spring/Summer 2010 Collection
Perhaps it’s the golden rays she sends out each season at Chloé, I’m actually warming up to Hannah MacGibbon – Creative Director of the French Luxury Fashion House. Well… It’s not the most avant-garde show I have ever seen, but nonetheless, it’s delightful and it’s desirable! With this winning combination, I am confident that Chloé’s financial matters will be enjoying quite a pleasant ride in the forthcoming fall.

Caroline Brasch Nielsen, Carla Gebhart and Jaquelyn Jablonski in Céline
One sleepy “morning”, my friend woke me up from my most wanted and most needed beauty sleep to tell me to urgently check out Garance Dore’s video of Céline’s show. At first, I was doubtful. I mean was it really that powerful, that worthy to disrupt the most valued activity of my day? Moreover, does it truly live up to all the hypes and expectations? Well… Well… Well… To my surprise, Ms. Philo’s show for Céline was indeed everything of the above description and even more.

Eddie Klint and Jacquelyn Jablonski stares in Selected Spring/Summer 2010 Ad campaign.
Eddie Klint teams up with All American beauty Jacquelyn Jablonski in Selected’s ad campaign this Spring/Summer 2010. Heading the ad campaign for the Copenhagen-based fashion label a second time, Mr. Klint looks confident and cool – like the man we all die to hang out with. The collection shows off an amazing array of easy peasy pieces in neutral shades that look smart and stylish. What I felt is the key to this collection is this sense of serenity, harmony and romance – these elements come together complementarily in a way that felt natural yet luxurious. Inevitably, sweet love is in the air!

Danish model Mathias Lauridsen looking ever so charming in Gucci's gorgeous menswear collection.
Since I am a person of few words in real person and I know that I panic a lot when good things, bad things, anything happen to me, I have decided - rather than having a normal impromptu going-with-the-flow interview like most professional journalists, it is crucial for me to have a staged interview with Mathias (if I ever get the chance to meet him in person this life time), where I get the opportunity to interrogate him critically on all the questions in my life (except one). Here is a preview of how it’ll play out…
Y: Mathias! [Shrilling nervously in a high pitched voice] We are speechless… really! We had been dreaming about you ever since we saw that mesmerising picture of you for the Gucci pour homme II ad campaign, when we were young. Tell us please. How does it feel to be the man in so many girls’ dreams? Does it make you feel sick, paranoid or uneasy in any way at all?
M: …

Nils Lawton in Alexander McQueen Fall/Winter 2010/11
Reading Russian writer Alexander Pushkin’s historical novel The Captain’s Daughter, we found a folk song, which painfully introduces us to the reality of life discussed in today’s post. It goes:
“If you find one better than me, you will forget me;
if you find one worse than me, you will remember me.” [link]

Danish model Adrian Bosch shows off Jil Sander Spring/Summer 2010 Collection in Milan
A walk into Jil Sander’s sleek minimalist store, we discovered an irresistible menswear collection that made us drool so bad that completely ruining the store’s all around pleasant ambience eventually became the ultimate most undeserved fate for the lovely luxury store.

Danish model Adrian Bosch shows off Marc Jacob’s Spring/Summer 2010 Collection.
For Spring/Summer 2010, American designer Marc Jacobs focused on streamlined slim cut, solid structure, contrasting features, pleated details and eccentric prints for his eponymous fashion label for men. Showcased by Danish model Adrian Bosch, the collection features a range of practical yet remarkably unexpected pieces. From simple sleek slim cut jackets to easy striped T-Shirts and lavish sweaters, each piece exhibites the confidence and immaculate sophistication yielding an irresistible reaction amongst us as mere viewers of the lookbook. The presentation of the usual fabulous pants suit look is accompanied by a fresh new pairing to account for the effects of global warming: pleated shorts worn with a charming coat and gorgeous sandals for the man who is always ready for changes.

Danish model Mathias Lauridsen shows off Viktor & Rolf's Fall/Winter 2010/11 Collection
Entitled “Paint It Black”, Dutch designers Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren’s men’s show took its cue from the infamous Rolling Stones song. Influenced by the remarkable English Rock Band, the colour palette of the collection is naturally tainted with almighty blackness; yet the attitude and the final look are true blue royal and loyal to the Amsterdam-based fashion house. Namely, each model appears like an exact replica of Mr. Horsting and Mr. Snoeren exhibiting the designers’ signature quirky and cool style.

Adrian Bosch, Nikola Jovanovic and Jakob Wiechmann in Dries Van Noten
The first thing that caught my critical eye for coolness from Dries van Noten’s Fall/Winter 2010/11 runway show for men was… Adrian Bosch the charming camel trench coat with the fudge boning as worn by Danish model Adrian Bosch (see picture above). I love the boning, as it creates a youthful vibe, as if those clean lines were drawn on playfully, while giving it a sleek structure, which I adore so much.

Danish model Mathias Lauridsen fronts Bruuns Bazaar Spring Summer 2010 Ad Campaign
Nothing gives me more pleasure than blogging about three of the things I love the most in the entire world: Mathias Lauridsen Carmen Kass, Bruuns Bazaar and last but not least, Mathias Lauridsen. For Spring/Summer 2010, the Danish label’s allure is once again captured at its most desirable state under the lens of the Danish photographer Henrik Bülow. Amidst a poetic setting by the beach, life in Bruuns Bazaar’s world is beautiful and love is bliss! We love how simple and simply chic the different pieces of the collection are. Assembled together, the whole collection reflects a distinctively laid back attitude; yet it retains a style of its own. I love the infusion of leatherwear into the collection. It gives off a strong persona that is a little bit on the wild side, yet, also soft and feminine through its finishing touches. This is the life!
