Less Than* Fall/Winter Ready-to-wear 2010/11 Tokyo

Less Than* Fall/Winter Ready-to-wear 2010/11 Tokyo

Less Than* Showroom

I remember the day when I went to the Less Than* showroom like it was yesterday. It was a fine but chilly day in March. As a result of JFW overload and unsuccessful adjustment to the weather, my brain was really frozen that day, so really, I wasn’t expecting much in particular. With a little bit of difficulty finding the venue, (because the entrance to the building was slightly hidden and that the exhibition moved from level 4 to level 5 or something like that), I made it to the showroom. Stepping into the exhibition space, one could really sense the immense creativity behind the work.

Lad Musician Spring/Summer 2010 Joy Division T-Shirt

French model Tom Nicon wears Lad Musician's Joy Division inspired T

Warning! Warning! Hot new arrival alert! Available at Lad Musician’s web store and one pair is this set of über-cool Joy Division inspired Tees by Japanese label Lad Musician. Capturing the essence of the English rock band’s spirit in print, this set of must-have cotton Tees comes in three wild prints – all of which shows off an edgy side of a guy in an effortless way. Prices range from ¥ 8,400 to ¥ 8,820. Frankly speaking, I am losing control over the U-neck Sharp Hem Line Tees. Can’t wait to put my claws all over it!

UT All Stars Blast

UT All Stars Ad Campaign Spring 2010.

UT All Stars Ad Campaign 2010

Just as I was thinking (once again!) that my wardrobe should grow up a little bit, here comes a collection of T-Shirts along with a set of photographs that wows and changes my perspective completely. Famous for her erotic feminine photography style, German photographer Ellen von Unwerth is simply divine in capturing these untamed boys and girls in their favourite T-Shirts featuring our favourite childhood cartoon characters from Disney, Warner Bros., Mobile suit gundam, Japan Manga Anime and etc. Whether it’s Superman, Dragon Ball Z or Mickey, Uniqlo has it all. Release yourself, live life and let’s go wild!

Hitch your wagon to Starstyling!

Starstyling Berlin

Starstyling Pollo T-Shirt

Starstyling – the fashion label hailing from Germany – has a mission. Not just a label, the German designers Katja Schlegel and Kai Seifried’s mission in fashion is to “offer original style dedicated to visual reflections of trends and society… bringing stimulation, energy and joy to all”. Evidently, the designer duo has succeeded their goal most effortlessly in that area. Catching our eye for edginess this season are their shiny tote bags decorated with sparkling metal strips, which aroused not only our sincere interest, but also concern for the content in our wallets, as these little babies could cost up to €50. Auch! Well… One shall never forget: individuality is a luxury!

Nonetheless, the German fashion label also produces a fun and fabulously funky T-Shirt collection. Reflected through the catchy caption on the web store which made us faint and weak from over-laughing, these designs express themselves most innovatively in a brutally humorous way. Our favorite from the bunch is undoubtedly the pollo T (€60). Painted by hand, we just love how bright and colourful and unique it is. For us, this is indeed the perfect stellar catch for Spring/Summer 2010!

Oh, Dolly! It’s Christopher Kane!

Christopher Kane Sping/Summer 2010

Christopher Kane is all dolled up!

Christopher Kane introduces another stunning T-shirt collection for Spring/Summer 2010. As oppose to the iconic gorilla Ts or the equally horrifying atomic T, the Glasgow-born designer surprisingly opts for a different direction this time around – something sweet as honey and just as mesmerizing as a magnet. Featured on his Tees is the hand drawn chubby little face of a cherubic angel, whose gorgeous face is so adorable that we just want to pinch. There is something remarkably special about this figure. Whether it is her glassy eyes, crown of fuzzy hair or her bow-shaped lips, she expresses a sense of sorrow in a poetic way. Available in various colour as well as black and white, this fabulous T-Shirt will surely cause another stir amongst fashionistas all over the world.

Available at Mrs H, The Corner and La Garçonne. Prices start at SEK 2.250,00 at Mrs H.

All Hail McQueen

Alexander McQueen Spring/Summer 2010

Magnificence from McQueen

Spring into Spring 2010 with a splash of colours in honour of the late Designer Alexander McQueen. The legendary Brit’s paint splash jeans ($570.00) are indisputably a unique piece that not only looks great, but also an inimitable keeper that speaks colourful tones of explicit individuality regardless of age and season. His bi-colour stripe cotton t-shirt ($315.00) is, similarly, fantastic with its masterful applications of painterly strokes in orange and blue - bringing the ferocious image of a lively wild tiger to mind.

Tear & Wear Inside out

T-Shirt by Inside out

Torn tee & cardigan print top by Inside Out

Ripped and torn could look utterly unbearable and heinously hideous, if not done correctly. Thank god we have Inside out! With its exquisite eye for quality and design, the 2007-born British label totally rocks high fashion’s lavish version of the derelict look. Designed by Central St. Martins Graduates James Woolfin and Yvette White, this long sleeved T-shirt (£165.00) is our pretty pick of the pack. We just love the exuberantly eccentric print, which features an incredible image of a torn tee and cardigan. It adds flair to the look and turns this simple garment into something genuinely fantastic that deserves to be bought and worn a.s.a.p.!

Top picks from Topshop

Charcoal Stud Track Pants By Ashish; Slate Slash T-Shirt Dress By Ann-Sofie Back; and Nude Jumpsuit By Richard Nicoll.

Topshop is tops!

Browsing through Topshop’s Designer collection, we spotted three terrific items, which we wanna grab right off our screen and wear it till it tears out.

If only we didn’t spend all our money on final sales…

Made For Kissing. Made for Loving.

Romanian model Andreea Diaconu shows off Schumacher's Spring/Summer 2010 Collection in Bebelplatz, Belin

Romanian model Andreea Diaconu shows off Schumacher's Spring/Summer 2010 Collection in Bebelplatz, Belin

Reading Russian writer Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn’s (1918-2008) semi-autobiographical work Cancer Ward, I found a passage that reminded me of the finesse beauty of Schumacher’s Spring/Summer 2010 collections, especially the boat-neck shirt with the sparkling lips motif, which we wrote about a month ago.

Her smile was kind, not so much as the lips themselves. They were vital, separate lips, which seemed about to flutter from her face like a lark into the sky. They were made, as all lips are, for kissing, yet they had other more important work to do: to sing of brightness and beauty.” – page 79.

See Schumacher’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection yourself online at My Theresa and in KaDeWe Berlin, Harrods and Lane Crawford.

Mighty McQueen Strikes Lane Crawford

Alexander McQueen for Lane Crawford's must have scarf

Alexander McQueen for Lane Crawford's must have scarf

If you have me on your twitter, you may already know that I am guilty of cleaning out the entire Luella store of last season stock, last last season stock and prehistoric stock; and am thereby, banned from shopping anywhere online and offline this month. However, I am glad to announce that my quota for February is still wide open. One item that I am eager to snatch off the rack as soon as it touches the shelf is Alexander McQueen’s exclusive collection for Lane Crawford – due to arrive on the very first of February (that’s just tomorrow!!!)!
