Fornarina Fall/Winter 08/09 Best Shopping Catalogue

Fornarina is one of those generous fashion brands that send me their glossy pink-infused catalog every season all the way from Milano with limitless love regardless of whether I make a purchase. Honestly, I am glad they send me a catalog, because I, a perferred-to-be-dressed-in-black-but-frankly-not-goth girl, feel too out of place to go into any too pink stores whether virtually or in reality [1]. So having the catalog sent to me is really like an invitation. It is a step more to lure me into wholly believing the philosophy and the aesthetics of the brand and you know what? It works!

The vibe exerted by Fornarina is infused with youth and energy just like any other denim brands for young people, like Diesel, Lee, Levi’s and Miss Sixty; yet Fornarina is unique in the way that it is simply more feminised. It is infused with an element of boundless female sexuality and the danger that comes along with it. Every season, I flip through this little catalog that the marketing team has so kindly sent me and see this ultra seductive Fornarina Femme Fatale stealing the day, stealing the night and ultimately, stealing many hearts away; and this philosophy goes on this fall/winter. This season, Detroit artist Glenn Barr and Japanese artist Junko Mizuno have spiced up and brought fall/winter to life with pop-surrealist infused prints. So wake up and enjoy life!

My list of 10 must haves from the collection are [not in any particular order]:

1. Hindi Sweater [below left] – so sweet.

2. Kerol knitwear [below center] – looks great everyday.

3. Evely Knitwear [below right] – perfect for Christmas.

6. Raf More Boyfriend-style Jeans [below right] – one word: sexy!

Endnote:

[1] Actually, I have been to a Fornarina store once… only because I was accompanied by a brave Croatian gentleman of course!

[2] Apologies that I had not been blogging on such a regular schedule as I want to be. I had been kidnapped and was banished in a sea of violent waves unable to return.

[4] Could someone please ID this model. Thanks in advance!
