Hellooo, Haider Ackermann!

Haider Ackermann Spring/Summer ready-to-wear 2010

Haider Ackermann Cresta Leather Pocket Waistcoat

Have you ever met a piece of clothing that makes you feel that you are born to wear it? Well… I think I have just found my ideal match: Haider Ackermann’s Cresta Waistcoat (€1379) is certainly an addictive piece that I would not want to take off once I put it on. Made in Italy, this fine waistcoat with its eccentric detailing speaks of an incredible style that is elegant and refined – yet it also has a purely punky Edge that is overwhelmingly tough and powerful.

Hermès – the Greatest Messenger

Hermès Spring/Summer 2010

I dream of Hermès

It might seem so unoriginal to put Hermès as the ultimate buy on the consideration list for mother’s day; but really the great messenger of the gods in Greek mythology is truly the ultimate messenger to convey your love for this beloved figure in your life on this special day by treating her, spoiling her and ultimately to embrace her in a style that nobody (especially her picky friends) will deny or dis in any way at all. Naturally anything from the Hermès Shop would be worth every penny spent, because you know what? She is worth it!

The Spring/Summer 2010 ready-to-wear collection in store now is really quite a charmer itself. It encapsulates luxe at the very tip of the apex like no other. Just touching it on the rack, feeling its weight and how it just melts on the body like second skin; there is really no replacement in the market for its extraordinary design and meticulous craftsmanship. You know how mum just knows what size you are. Well… I guess it’s time to learn mum’s size and bring her the message of love that lasts forever.

Calla Spring/Summer Ready-to-wear Collection 2010 Paris

Calla Spring/Summer Ready-to-wear 2010

Calla Spring/Summer Ready-to-wear 2010

Sleek and clean, soft and romantic, Toronto-born Paris-based designer Calla Haynes’ take on her line Calla for Spring/Summer 2010 is simply irresistible. Whether it is the form fitting body suits showing delicate soft lines or the billowing balloon-shaped skirts and dresses with the charming prints and exquisite embroidery, Ms. Haynes’ work exhibits such finesse feminine beauty in a poetic light that makes a woman feel idyllically extraordinary. Although the label is still rather young, the designer’s sharp sense has certainly pierced our hearts through with amazement and we sincerely look forward to seeing more of her work in the future.

Chloé Fall/Winter Ready-to-wear 2010/11 Paris

Chloé Spring Summer Ready to wear 2010 Collection Paris

Freja Beha Erichsen, Raquel Zimmermann and Magdalena Frackowiak in Chloé Spring/Summer 2010 Collection

Perhaps it’s the golden rays she sends out each season at Chloé, I’m actually warming up to Hannah MacGibbon – Creative Director of the French Luxury Fashion House. Well… It’s not the most avant-garde show I have ever seen, but nonetheless, it’s delightful and it’s desirable! With this winning combination, I am confident that Chloé’s financial matters will be enjoying quite a pleasant ride in the forthcoming fall.

Lanvin’s Carnation Revolution

Lanvin's Fabric Carnation Brooch

Lanvin's Carnation Comes Into Bloom

A ball of fabric standing on a pin may not sound exactly like something exciting. However, given the creative treatment by Lanvin’s magnificent menswear designer Lucas Ossendrijver, magic just happens! Available in four different delightful colours – white, navy, grey and plum, Lanvin’s Fabric carnation brooch (£99.00) is simply an amazing accessory to bring an extraordinary sense of softness to a man’s tough look. Beautiful and brilliant at the same time.

Available at Harvey Nichols.

Céline Fall/Winter Ready-to-wear 2010/11 Paris

Céline Spring/Summer Ready-to-wear 2010 Paris

Caroline Brasch Nielsen, Carla Gebhart and Jaquelyn Jablonski in Céline

One sleepy “morning”, my friend woke me up from my most wanted and most needed beauty sleep to tell me to urgently check out Garance Dore’s video of Céline’s show. At first, I was doubtful. I mean was it really that powerful, that worthy to disrupt the most valued activity of my day? Moreover, does it truly live up to all the hypes and expectations? Well… Well… Well… To my surprise, Ms. Philo’s show for Céline was indeed everything of the above description and even more.

In The Tribe… In Lanvin’s Terrific Tribe!

Lanvin Spring/Summer Ready-to-wear 2010 Paris

Lanvin's extravagant Stanislas Earring

Add a sense of fun and style to your final look with Lanvin’s adorable Stanislas earrings. Shaped by delicate twigs of shiny brass to form the silhouette of a playful little poster child for endearing cuteness, then, adorned with exquisite crystals and red coral beading; this pair of earrings glows with subtlety, class and extravagant refinement. Yet, its tribal influence creates a remarkably raw touch that makes the entire thing seem primitive in the way that it connects no-time-to-waste city life into the full embrace of Mother Nature. At ~€543.00, this lovely doll-shaped pair, for me, is definitely a timeless piece worth purchasing.

In Bed and In Love With Matvey Lykov

Dior Homme Spring/Summer 2010 Paris

Russian model Matvey Lykov closes the Dior Homme show.

Growing older and older each day, I no longer strive to put all the models with first names starting with the letter M in my list of favourite models. Yet, out of the blue, somehow it just happened: introducing a new favourite of mine this February is the fabulous Russian model Matvey Lykov. Ever since the day I watched the in bed with Matvey Lykov video - tweeted to me by a little bird from modelhommes, I just could not forget his mighty loveliness. Obviously, by and large, he is very good looking, but what charmed us sharply right through and swept us off both our feet is the fact that he speaks three and a half languages – Russian, English, Spanish and a little bit of Italian. Obviously, we share something common there. Let’s exchange numbers, Matvey and please teach me Spanish!
