Spring to life in Bruuns Bazaar's dresses.
As spring commences to go into full swing, it’s certainly time for us to pack away our big woolly winter knits and load our wardrobes with some fresh new springtastic clothes. Bruuns Bazaar, the Danish label established by brothers Teis and Bjørn Bruun, opened its first store in Asia last month. We took the courtesy to check out its nature-inspired minimalist store in Hong Kong and found some of the most beautiful dresses that reflects a warm spirit, full of the joys of spring – pretty and perfect for the season. Here are our top spring picks:
Available at Bruuns Bazaar.

Piercing eyes penetrate through our souls.
Even though the hottest ticket in town (a.k.a sales) is no longer valid at Lane Crawford, we are lured to step into the sweet-scented department store to discover the new season’s entrancing enticements up close and personal, while attempting to meet the ever so impeccable Ms. Sarah Rutson serendipitously and intimately for the trillionth time. The first and foremost origin of this forbidden temptation is none other than a sneak peek of the drop dead sexy Spring/Summer 2010 Ad campaign, entitled “The Portfolio”.

3.1 Phillip Lim Initials Lingerie Spring 2010 Collection.
Earlier this February, we looked at 3.1 Phillip Lim’s Initials lookbook for Spring/Summer 2010 and drooled over its sugar-filled sexiness. Today, we meet the lovely lingerie collection once again in the vast spaces of the lavish Department store Lane Crawford. Whether seeing it on the doll, on the models in the press photos or alone as itself, the collection exudes youth and elegance with a sense of health and well-being. Sportswear has, no doubt, placed a hale and hearty dose of influence on the collection making us wanna forget all about our outerwear and just run out of the house in 3.1 Phillip Lim’s Initials lingerie.

Cheap Monday's Tamy Skirt
Never in my crazy dreams have I ever imagined that Seibu would one day become one of my favourite department stores to splurge. Well… Perhaps its the modest logo and/or the rather masculine company name. I am just not particularly addicted to it as much as some of the others extravagant shops in the market. Nevertheless, I guess what matters the most is what they stock, its quality and most importantly, the price.
Since sales have became a non-existent subject matter at most of my favourite stores at this time of the year, I had been sober… until strolling randomly on the streets, I found out that Seibu was still celebrating a merry time with final sales. As a result of this, I gained immediate strength and became a super vicious being knocking over some a couple of a few dating couples to grab all that pleases my eyes.

Romanian model Andreea Diaconu shows off Schumacher's Spring/Summer 2010 Collection in Bebelplatz, Belin
Reading Russian writer Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn’s (1918-2008) semi-autobiographical work Cancer Ward, I found a passage that reminded me of the finesse beauty of Schumacher’s Spring/Summer 2010 collections, especially the boat-neck shirt with the sparkling lips motif, which we wrote about a month ago.
“Her smile was kind, not so much as the lips themselves. They were vital, separate lips, which seemed about to flutter from her face like a lark into the sky. They were made, as all lips are, for kissing, yet they had other more important work to do: to sing of brightness and beauty.” – page 79.
See Schumacher’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection yourself online at My Theresa and in KaDeWe Berlin, Harrods and Lane Crawford.

RM by Roland Mouret Capsule Collection for Lane Crawford
Sunday, 14th February 2010 is a special day. Not only is it a day to celebrate the lunar New Year for Chinese residing all over the world, but also Valentine’s Day – a time to express our love for our special someone. To commemorate this significant day, how else to dress than in bold vivacious shades of red and fuchsia – the very symbolic colour of romance in Western Culture as well as the colour of luck, fortune and happiness in traditional Chinese culture? Reading my mind on that special thought is the designer Roland Mouret, who has created the Limited Edition RM by Roland Mouret Capsule Collection for what else but our favourite department store – Lane Crawford!

winZchan Fall/Winter Ready-to-wear 2010/11 Hong Kong
For fall/winter 2010/11, designer Wines Chan ventured into another era in times for inspiration for her fashion label winZchan. The collection, entitled “A passerby”, is inspired by and named after Charles Baudelaire’s poem À une passante. It describes the transitory attraction the writer feels towards a dazzling statuesque woman. Ms. Chan adapted the notorious nineteenth-century French poet’s words and recreated a modern vision of the world in the poem and presented it on the runway on Thursday, 21 Jan 2010. Along to the chilling yet mesmerising notes played by Flutist Alan Ng, the Hong Kong designer’s contemporary Graeco-Roman statues swept the runway.

Alexander McQueen for Lane Crawford's must have scarf
If you have me on your twitter, you may already know that I am guilty of cleaning out the entire Luella store of last season stock, last last season stock and prehistoric stock; and am thereby, banned from shopping anywhere online and offline this month. However, I am glad to announce that my quota for February is still wide open. One item that I am eager to snatch off the rack as soon as it touches the shelf is Alexander McQueen’s exclusive collection for Lane Crawford – due to arrive on the very first of February (that’s just tomorrow!!!)!

Yamkocht Fall/Winter Ready-to-wear 2010/11 Hong Kong
For fall/winter 2010/11, the fashion label Yamkocht presented a show, entitled “Plane Dressing”, that is inspired by something that may seem childish, silly and even frivolous at first: paper dolls. Designer Yam Chan gave these inanimate objects not only a fresh breath of life on the runway, but also an incredible wardrobe that mixes the hardness of paper with the softness of femininity.

Australian model Abbey Lee Kershaw in Alexander Wang's Resort Collection
It totally stinks that we were not able to find any good [1] Alexander Wang stuff at final sales anywhere at all! Argh… Did someone hide ‘em all for themselves – instead of benefitting the food good of the society? Seriously, do I really have to pay full price to wear one of those extremely cool but thin-as-nothing Tee from him? [2] Besides, you know what? Last season stock is actually quite appetising on me, despite being ‘old’ and ‘out of fashion’.
