Go Wild For Stella McCartney’s Lingerie

Kim Noorda in Stella McCartney's Spring Summer 2010 Lingerie Collection.

My Wildest Dreams...

Like a divine creature of nature, Dutch model Kim Noorda mesmerises all in Stella McCartney’s idyllic Spring/Summer 2010 ad campaign for the British IT Designer’s lingerie collection. Under the spellbinding lens of Tim Barber, this set of intimate photographs, shot both at home and in the wild, conveys the purity of fresh natural beauty. Although Ms. McCartney did work a lot of racy laces into the collection, she kept the collection youthful and delightfully sweet without veering into an overtly sexy path. As simple as it is, how could anyone not go weak in the knees for this?

For the Love of Luella

Luella Sugden Silk Stripe Multi-shirt

Oh… Why oh why does life have to be so cruel? First, our wish of new stocks magically appearing at the Luella store is brutally slayed and now, the Luella website has ceased to operate entirely. Nonetheless, I’m just writing this post to remind everyone to stay positive because the Luella store in Elements is still open till the end of May 2010. This is surely the last chance to stock up on Ms. Bartley’s timelessly gorgeous and quintessentially unique and fun designs, which not only passes the test of time on style, wearability and durability, but also the stamp of approval on its terrific customer service, which you may not find elsewhere in Hong Kong. Don’t be overwhelmed by the relatively empty (or half-full) store, which only shows how popular it has been and is. Remember: the treasures are hidden deep beneath the ocean. For one thing, I hope I could find this exquisite pre-historic Sugden shirt at the surface of the store next time I make my routinary visit there. Of course, we gotta hurry! It’s a matter of timing and luck!

[Address: Shop no. 2084-5., Second Level at Elements, 1 Austin Road, West Kowloon, Hong Kong | Tel: (+852) 2196 8368 | Opening hours: 11:00-21:00]

BlackBarrett’s Boyhemian

Blackbarrett by Neil Barrett Spring Summer 2010 Ad Campaign

Ian O'Brien in Blackbarrett by Neil Barrett's Spring/Summer 2010 Ad Campaign

Shouldn’t I be thankful that I actually live in Hong Kong and not somewhere in the outback? I mean although I had surveyed every inch of the Seibu store in Ikebukuro when I was in Tokyo, somehow I missed BlackBarrett. Unbelievably stupid as it may sound, I should just be thankful that I am given a second chance, (which I may or may not deserve), as the ever-so-wonderful British designer Neil Barrett has expanded his horizons outside of Japan with his first BlackBarrett store in Central, Hong Kong.

For Spring/Summer 2010, Mr. Barrett works with the theme of “Boyhemian”. Playing with the idea of youth, freedom and peace, we saw an explosion of wicked colours in the amazing ad campaign. Paired with a relaxed loose fit, the idyllic atmosphere captured in this set of photographs is simply enticing to the eyes of the beholder. With his swinging long hair, British model Ian O’Brien possesses the ideal face and body language to exhibit the attitude of the season.

Men’s Midsummer Needs

The Midsummer Odyssey – The Portfolio – Menswear – Photography by But-Sou Lai

The Midsummer Odyssey by But-Sou Lai

Last month, we brought to you Lane Crawford’s smashing Spring/Summer 2010 publication – The Portfolio featuring an exclusive editorial with the drop dead gorgeous Dree Hemingway. It would be completely wrong of me to the stylish crowd all over the world, if I don’t post the corresponding menswear publication, would it not? Well… Better late than never, here it comes.

For men, The Portfolio presents a thorough global trend report that shall not be missed. From Eastern Promises to Desert Storm, what is in now is in The Portfolio. The highlight of which for me is naturally the editorial entitled “The Midsummer Odyssey”. Amidst a raw and ramshackle building, photographer But-Sou Lai encapsulates the essence of the season: a marvelous mix of understated soft tailoring with utilitarianism, the vivacity of ethnic influences and modern artisan. The result illustrates the charm of a modern man in a plain and simply irresistible way.

Live The American Dream in American Apparel

Invitation to the Launch Party

Yes, American Apparel – the coolest and largest clothing manufacturer in the United States – is available in Seibu in Hong Kong, but that little corner hardly does any justice to the urban chic consumer, who would love to shop the sensational collection thoroughly and yet not be bothered to go across the border to its flagship store in one of the 31 places to visit in 2010 according to the New York Times -Shenzhen. So it gives us great pleasure to be one of the first to hear that this Californian born and breed brand will land exclusively in Lane Crawford this month for four short weeks only.

A special pop-up shop will be set up from April 9 to May 11, 2010 at Lane Crawford IFC mall. It will feature a diversified range of the true blue American label’s fun and sexy pieces for men, women, children and even pets. How you wear it is entirely up to you. Additionally, there is a launch party this Friday April 9, 2010 from 6-9 pm. This will surely be a beyond amazing affair.

Well… What are we waiting for? Let’s hit the floor and boost some sales figure!

Jungle Madness Marches Into Lane Crawford This March

A walk through Lane Crawford’s IFC Mall store, we discovered not only the latest, the hottest and the most sought-after of everything in fashion and lifestyle, but also inspirational art that demonstrates immense creativity and wild passion. The latest attraction at the almost 160-year-old department store is an explosively cool pop-up store and an incredible installation by the ingenious Michael Costiff.

Spring to life

Bruuns Bazaar's spring and summer dresses.

Spring to life in Bruuns Bazaar's dresses.

As spring commences to go into full swing, it’s certainly time for us to pack away our big woolly winter knits and load our wardrobes with some fresh new springtastic clothes. Bruuns Bazaar, the Danish label established by brothers Teis and Bjørn Bruun, opened its first store in Asia last month. We took the courtesy to check out its nature-inspired minimalist store in Hong Kong and found some of the most beautiful dresses that reflects a warm spirit, full of the joys of spring – pretty and perfect for the season. Here are our top spring picks:

Available at Bruuns Bazaar.

Lane Crawford’s Pretty Provocative Portfolio

The Portfolio - Lane Crawford Spring/Summer 2010.

Piercing eyes penetrate through our souls.

Even though the hottest ticket in town (a.k.a sales) is no longer valid at Lane Crawford, we are lured to step into the sweet-scented department store to discover the new season’s entrancing enticements up close and personal, while attempting to meet the ever so impeccable Ms. Sarah Rutson serendipitously and intimately for the trillionth time. The first and foremost origin of this forbidden temptation is none other than a sneak peek of the drop dead sexy Spring/Summer 2010 Ad campaign, entitled “The Portfolio”.

In love with 3.1 Phillip Lim’s Initials

31-phillip-lim-initials-lingerie-spring-2010-collection-lane-crawrford

3.1 Phillip Lim Initials Lingerie Spring 2010 Collection.

Earlier this February, we looked at 3.1 Phillip Lim’s Initials lookbook for Spring/Summer 2010 and drooled over its sugar-filled sexiness. Today, we meet the lovely lingerie collection once again in the vast spaces of the lavish Department store Lane Crawford. Whether seeing it on the doll, on the models in the press photos or alone as itself, the collection exudes youth and elegance with a sense of health and well-being. Sportswear has, no doubt, placed a hale and hearty dose of influence on the collection making us wanna forget all about our outerwear and just run out of the house in 3.1 Phillip Lim’s Initials lingerie.
