Prada Spring/Summer Ready-to-wear 2010/11 Milan

Prada Spring Summr Ready to wear 2010 Milano

Mark Cox in Prada Spring/Summer 2010

To be perfectly honest with you all, this season, I am more in love with Prada’s menswear line than with its womenswear collection. A walk through the brightly-lit store space complete with racks and racks of spring/summer goodies, this feeling just intensifies even more so. If I could, I would have certainly done a grabsweep-and-run, regardless of whether the pieces actually flatter me or not. Well… Yes, sir, yes! I’m crazy! I’m crazy in love!

Lanvin’s Carnation Revolution

Lanvin's Fabric Carnation Brooch

Lanvin's Carnation Comes Into Bloom

A ball of fabric standing on a pin may not sound exactly like something exciting. However, given the creative treatment by Lanvin’s magnificent menswear designer Lucas Ossendrijver, magic just happens! Available in four different delightful colours – white, navy, grey and plum, Lanvin’s Fabric carnation brooch (£99.00) is simply an amazing accessory to bring an extraordinary sense of softness to a man’s tough look. Beautiful and brilliant at the same time.

Available at Harvey Nichols.

Selected is Selected!

Eddie Klint and Jacquelyn Jablonski stares in Selected Spring/Summer 2010 Ad campaign.

Eddie Klint teams up with All American beauty Jacquelyn Jablonski in Selected’s ad campaign this Spring/Summer 2010. Heading the ad campaign for the Copenhagen-based fashion label a second time, Mr. Klint looks confident and cool – like the man we all die to hang out with. The collection shows off an amazing array of easy peasy pieces in neutral shades that look smart and stylish. What I felt is the key to this collection is this sense of serenity, harmony and romance – these elements come together complementarily in a way that felt natural yet luxurious. Inevitably, sweet love is in the air!

Zegna Sport – As We Want It & As We Like It!

Zegna Sport Spring/Summer 2010

Russian model Vladimir Ivanov in Zegna Sport Spring/Summer 2010 Collection

Sportswear was once a naughty word in fashion that nobody likes to even speak of. However, recently, with designers from all over the world coming up with all sorts of sportswear-inspired creative designs, Ermenegildo Zegna’s leisure line Zegna Sport, which specialised in the field since 1999, is certainly leading the pack with its high tech concepts and stylish and comfortable approach.

Dive Into Blanco Denim’s Cool Blue

Blanco Denim Spring/Summer 2010 Ad Campaign

Dewi Driegen and Brian Shimansky star in Blanco Denim’s Spring/Summer 2010 Ad Campaign

Blanco Denim unravels its stunning Spring/Summer 2010 ad campaign with a sensational cast: the platinum blonde Dutch star Dewi Driegen and the American hunk Brian Shimansky. The two makes a perfect pair showing off the denimwear label’s fresh and invigorating new collection under the lens of photographer-duo Hunter and Gatti. Basic pieces are infused with a zest of modern twist and are given the exuberant glamourous treatment. We love how young and energetic the line is. It makes us wanna dive into Blanco Denim’s cool pool of blue denim pieces right now and feel the calming summer breeze. Ahhh

All Hail McQueen

Alexander McQueen Spring/Summer 2010

Magnificence from McQueen

Spring into Spring 2010 with a splash of colours in honour of the late Designer Alexander McQueen. The legendary Brit’s paint splash jeans ($570.00) are indisputably a unique piece that not only looks great, but also an inimitable keeper that speaks colourful tones of explicit individuality regardless of age and season. His bi-colour stripe cotton t-shirt ($315.00) is, similarly, fantastic with its masterful applications of painterly strokes in orange and blue - bringing the ferocious image of a lively wild tiger to mind.

In Bed and In Love With Matvey Lykov

Dior Homme Spring/Summer 2010 Paris

Russian model Matvey Lykov closes the Dior Homme show.

Growing older and older each day, I no longer strive to put all the models with first names starting with the letter M in my list of favourite models. Yet, out of the blue, somehow it just happened: introducing a new favourite of mine this February is the fabulous Russian model Matvey Lykov. Ever since the day I watched the in bed with Matvey Lykov video - tweeted to me by a little bird from modelhommes, I just could not forget his mighty loveliness. Obviously, by and large, he is very good looking, but what charmed us sharply right through and swept us off both our feet is the fact that he speaks three and a half languages – Russian, English, Spanish and a little bit of Italian. Obviously, we share something common there. Let’s exchange numbers, Matvey and please teach me Spanish!

In The Waiting Room… Waiting for Answers…

Mathias Lauridsen at Gucci Spring/Summer 2010 Milano

Danish model Mathias Lauridsen looking ever so charming in Gucci's gorgeous menswear collection.

Since I am a person of few words in real person and I know that I panic a lot when good things, bad things, anything happen to me, I have decided - rather than having a normal impromptu going-with-the-flow interview like most professional journalists, it is crucial for me to have a staged interview with Mathias (if I ever get the chance to meet him in person this life time), where I get the opportunity to interrogate him critically on all the questions in my life (except one). Here is a preview of how it’ll play out…

Y: Mathias! [Shrilling nervously in a high pitched voice] We are speechless… really! We had been dreaming about you ever since we saw that mesmerising picture of you for the Gucci pour homme II ad campaign, when we were young. Tell us please. How does it feel to be the man in so many girls’ dreams? Does it make you feel sick, paranoid or uneasy in any way at all?

M: …

RIP, Alexander McQueen!

Nils Lawton in Alexander McQueen Fall/Winter 2010/11

Nils Lawton in Alexander McQueen Fall/Winter 2010/11

Reading Russian writer Alexander Pushkin’s historical novel The Captain’s Daughter, we found a folk song, which painfully introduces us to the reality of life discussed in today’s post. It goes:

“If you find one better than me, you will forget me;
if you find one worse than me, you will remember me.” [link]

Jil Sander Spring/Summer Ready-to-wear 2010 Milan

Danish model Adrian Bosch shows off Jil Sander Spring/Summer 2010 Collection in Milan

Danish model Adrian Bosch shows off Jil Sander Spring/Summer 2010 Collection in Milan

A walk into Jil Sander’s sleek minimalist store, we discovered an irresistible menswear collection that made us drool so bad that completely ruining the store’s all around pleasant ambience eventually became the ultimate most undeserved fate for the lovely luxury store.
