Cutting Edge Jil Sander
A cut above average is certainly how we have always seen Jil Sander. Taking that idiom literally, Creative Director Raf Simons has created a range of clean and clear cut shoes, which made us run around in circles like a chicken with its head cut off. The three pairs, which we particularly trip over for, are the cutout flats (USD$550.00), the cutout loafers with stunning scalloped edges (USD $595.00) and last but not least, the jagged edge flats (USD$465.00). Taking the classics and modernising them, these striking shoes with its incredibly innovative designs are extremely edgy yet exquisitely elegant. Well… Cut to the chase! How can we not fall madly in love with these cutting edge charms?
The flats are available at La Garçonne and the loafers are sold at Barneys.

Slovenian model Valerija Kelava wears Marni's Pre-fall Collection 2010
Slovenian model Valerija Kelava takes on the role of Marni’s eccentric eclectic woman for Pre-fall 2010 and we just love it! There is something about her distinctively dark and mysterious looks, which complement Marni’s pretty and pristine pre-fall collection in an unbelievably mind-blowing way, leaving us gasping compulsively and compellingly for more.

Ann Demeulemeester’s Pretty Prickly Predicament
Beautiful yet disturbing – Ann Demeulemeester’s epine black leather necklace (SEK 440,00) and leather thorn bracelet (SEK 1.676,00) are doomed to be worn and not wasted. Engraved with the Belgian designer’s signature style with a prickly motif, these pieces are dark yet mysteriously alluring. The bracelet, which is made of silver with a leather outer shell, is an easy piece to adapt to this season’s trendy looks for an indifferent touch in the small scale; while the necklace looks like a deadly thorn in our flesh. Well… The more fatal it looks in our face, the more we love it!
Available at Mrs H.

Freja Beha Erichsen, Raquel Zimmermann and Magdalena Frackowiak in Chloé Spring/Summer 2010 Collection
Perhaps it’s the golden rays she sends out each season at Chloé, I’m actually warming up to Hannah MacGibbon – Creative Director of the French Luxury Fashion House. Well… It’s not the most avant-garde show I have ever seen, but nonetheless, it’s delightful and it’s desirable! With this winning combination, I am confident that Chloé’s financial matters will be enjoying quite a pleasant ride in the forthcoming fall.

Helmut Lang's Lovely Lace Dress
There are times when I have told myself not to blog about black dresses anymore – no matter how short, how little, how cool and pretty they are. However, when I spotted Helmut Lang’s Puckered Lace Dress (USD$425.00), I just could not resist. I had to break this rule – immediately! With its romantic draping and delicate lace detailing, this fitted asymmetric dress is simply a unique party must-have. Graceful and gorgeous regardless of which angle you see it through.
Available at Barneys, net-a-porter, La Garçonne, shopbop and Saks Fifth Avenue.

Mark Cox in Prada Spring/Summer 2010
To be perfectly honest with you all, this season, I am more in love with Prada’s menswear line than with its womenswear collection. A walk through the brightly-lit store space complete with racks and racks of spring/summer goodies, this feeling just intensifies even more so. If I could, I would have certainly done a grabsweep-and-run, regardless of whether the pieces actually flatter me or not. Well… Yes, sir, yes! I’m crazy! I’m crazy in love!

Lanvin's Carnation Comes Into Bloom
A ball of fabric standing on a pin may not sound exactly like something exciting. However, given the creative treatment by Lanvin’s magnificent menswear designer Lucas Ossendrijver, magic just happens! Available in four different delightful colours – white, navy, grey and plum, Lanvin’s Fabric carnation brooch (£99.00) is simply an amazing accessory to bring an extraordinary sense of softness to a man’s tough look. Beautiful and brilliant at the same time.
Available at Harvey Nichols.

Caroline Brasch Nielsen, Carla Gebhart and Jaquelyn Jablonski in Céline
One sleepy “morning”, my friend woke me up from my most wanted and most needed beauty sleep to tell me to urgently check out Garance Dore’s video of Céline’s show. At first, I was doubtful. I mean was it really that powerful, that worthy to disrupt the most valued activity of my day? Moreover, does it truly live up to all the hypes and expectations? Well… Well… Well… To my surprise, Ms. Philo’s show for Céline was indeed everything of the above description and even more.

VPL's sexy and sporty underwear
With sportswear-inspired body conscious clothing in the spotlight this season, there’s no better time to show off your visible panty line. Perfect for this job is the underwear collection from New York based label VPL. Established by stylist Victoria Bartlett, VPL begs for differ in terms of their philosophy and concept of design by making underwear something no longer suitable to be hidden underneath, but rather, as the acronym of the label suggests, visible. When you see the designs, the reasons would become naturally evident. Obviously, it is stylish and sexy, but what’s more is that it brings out an idiosyncratically sunny and healthy altitude – that is evermore fresh and fascinating. So what are you waiting for? Show off your VPL proud and loud!
Shown in the picture above are VPL’s insertion bra (USD$95.00), Stripe B Bra in Coral (also available in Navy – USD $85.00) and Stripe B Undi in Navy (USD $75.00). Available at Barneys and La Garçonne.
