I was pleasantly surprised when I spotted an Asian face opening Roland Mouret’s Spring/Summer 2010 Show. That just comes to show the fashion world truly appreciates all kind of beauties from all corners of the world. Viva la Difference! Liu Wen was the name of the Chinese model, who graced Mr. Mouret’s glamorous runway as first face. Dressed in a deep V-necked dress in champagne gold with glimmering excess jewellery, Ms. Liu lighted up the illustrious runway with her grace and seductive Eastern appeal.

The show is simply charming. Mr. Mouret incorporated rich and illuminating jewellery to go with the stellar wardrobe for Spring/Summer 2010. Berber stripes decorated with gilded gold are one of the elements, which stood out strongly from this show. The celebrity-embraced French designer worked these prints lightly as well as in excess to create glossed-up super appealing looks, like the dazzling outfit worn by Swedish star Frida Gustavsson. For those, who prefer the more understated looks, he offered some traditional black-and-white stripes, which against all odds, actually looks dashing. I love the Russian model Anya Kazakova in a nude top with Mr. Mouret’s black-and-white striped jacket and pants.

Nude is one of the major trends for Spring/Summer 2010 and Mr. Mouret infused it into his collection elegantly and with great style - creating a range of seductive bras, tops and dresses. The bra tops look great underneath an open shirt and adorned with strawlike fringing arm bands, which are actually soft-to-touch viscose fiber. These sweet sea-urchin like accessories also transformed into a fluffly warm scarf and delicate boleros to be worn on the cooler evenings.

Overall, this collection is rich and glamorous with many to-die-for pieces in a range of delectable colours that are so appealing to the eyes. The French designer, who came to his fame with his Galaxy dress, will most certainly celebrate another prosperous season. For now, I must snatch that go-go-gold one-shouldered jumpsuit Russian model Yulia Kharlaponova is wearing at the show.
