Is Dries Van Noten men and Dries Van Noten women one of the most matching couples in fashion history ever? Just like the Belgian designer’s womens collection, which we have just seen yesterday, South East Asia is the source of inspiration for menswear as well – creating an easy and non-chalant collection that is smart yet casual and refined yet never over the top.

Colourful ikat prints intricately decorated all over the charming collection, creating something that is more on the light side with its ethnical eccentricity; and I believe this is a great source of inspiration for menswear Spring/Summer 2010, because it is so different from anything we have seen for men in high fashion. It is unique! It stands out as its own in a playful-yet-sophisticated and modest way, making it a super special collection, which I find is just impossibly indescribably irresistible.

The collection as a whole contained a load of incredible individual pieces. Not only is the wardrobe divinely alive, but also the shoes, the bags and the little scarves hidden in the pocket illustriously outstanding! The shoes, in particular, are something really worth looking at and purchasing, because whether it is a formal pair, a casual pair of sneakers or sandals we are looking at, it is always so super smart and super fine with the elaborate workmanship that has gone into it. My favorite pair has to be the one with the black and white print, worn by Danish model Adrian Bosch at the show (shown above).

Another interesting aspect about this collection is the number of coats for the Spring/Summer season. With the weather changing so unpredictably all over the world, due to environmental damage caused by global warming, it is necessary to equipe one self with a coat against uncertainty. Mr. Van Noten offered a prominently prodigious assortment that is perfectly tailored for the modern man. My favorite coat is the one Adrian Bosch wore to open the show. It is something that is classically Gentleman with its crisp cut; but with its characteristically creative finishing touches, it is urban and exemplarily fit for 2010.

Overall, Dries Van Noten will always be Dries Van Noten. His collections, loaded with his distinctive and quintessentially avant-garde visions, will always be one of the most desirable amongst fashion and we simply cannot get enough of him!
