Nothing beats Prada! Even though a ton of people said they hated the messy ponytail hair-do, I just cannot find myself concurring with the general public, because I know I will fall victim to the devil. Well… After all, it is Prada!

In June 2009, models.com’s Betty Sze described Lindsey Wixson as “a blue eyed American with bee stung lips and long lean lines, who is certainly a fresh face to watch” [1]. Well… Looking back now, Ms. Sze’s words are wise and absolutely accurate! It is with these special features of hers that this 15 year old L.A. beauty opened Prada’s Spring/Summer 2010 show. What a sensation?

For Spring/Summer 2010, designer Miuccia Prada offered sleek futuristic silver in stern cuts for the Prada girl’s high sheen “all business” wardrobe. Severely frayed edges and refined embroidery are two contrastive elements she worked on this season to produce this luxurious to-die-for collection. Along with unnaturally sharp shapes, the collection displays a kind of attitude that is forceful yet feminine. For sure, we have seen an all gray and silver wardrobe before; but the way Mrs. Prada does it is simply refreshing, especially the embroidery work she did on the finalé dresses. Along with the bejewelled heels, they appear like a charming chandelier of glistening jewels. It shimmers and radiates a glittery optimism that will surely combat any gray days.

Mrs. Prada also worked on manipulated photographic prints this season. Palm trees, beach umbrellas, and lounging holidaymakers decorated jackets, shorts and even panties – eccentrically adding a touch of cyber fantasy for a solid wardrobe. The most stunning piece is for sure the one worn by Ms. Wixson with a large opening in the chest. How incredibly invigorating?

On the whole, I can already envision many pieces from this collection appearing in editorials as well as on the red carpet. Not only do I find the clothes, the shoes and the eyewear from this collection unforgettable, but also the hair and makeup. It is daring and inspirational! I am sure I will see girls from Scandinavia working this hair and makeup very soon. Oh… So pretty in Prada!

Null-Size.
