Let’s forget all about Spring/Summer 2010 for a little white. Let’s skip back to Cruise 2010. I mean I know I should really blog about something more recent; but I just cannot put this off any longer. I am in love with Jonathan Saunders’ Cruise Collection 2010. Particularly, seeing Hanne Gaby in these explosively vibrant clothes is just amazing. She just looks so light and youthful in this optimistic collection. Looking back, I think this is definitely the perfect prelude for spring/summer 2010.

For cruise 2010, the British print designer Jonathan Saunders worked on something he is best at: prints. This time, he introduced something more graphic in a playful way: big bold lego-esque blocks of colours, which worked pleasantly on blouses, scarves, belts, caftans and dresses. For me, these eye-popping colours are truly a drop of optimism in the eye of a storm. It brightens the day with a kind of spirit, a dynamic vivacious energy to battle any bad days.

On the softer side, Mr. Saunders also worked on a mosaic-tile print in lighter colour shades, like baby blue, moss green and chestnut red. This emphasizes a tranquil and harmonious quality, which suits the easy style of a cruise wardrobe and allows it to look great whether at remote locations on a cruise holiday or in the urban jungle. Duality certainly works best when it comes to investment pieces.

This collection, certainly, shows Mr. Saunders’ prodigal talent not only for prints, but also his excellent execution of colours to create such a captivating cruise collection. Great Britain sure has got talent!
